Cross-pollination: Choi Yoonhee, Yaron Michael Hakim, and Rachel Youn

G Gallery and Sargent’s Daughters will present Cross-pollination at Frieze London 2026, a curatorially rigorous joint booth which marks both galleries’ debut at the fair and their first international collaboration.

Featuring new works made specifically for Frieze by Yaron Michael Hakim, Choi Yoonhee, and shared gallery artist Rachel Youn, the booth explores fertile interchanges between seemingly alien forms through the botanical process of cross-pollination. Each artist’s work transgresses received boundaries – painting and installation, abstraction and figuration, human and nonhuman, body and environment – to generate states of fecundity, branching, and reconfiguration.

Yoonhee’s abstract oil paintings create a visual rhythm through densely layered flows and accumulated intensity, exploring the invisible forms of sound waves, emotions, time, and memories.

Hakim’s paintings on recycled sailcloth draw on the Martiniquais writer Édouard Glissant’s concept of creolization, imaging the interrelation of human biographies and their landscapes.

Youn animates these concepts in three-dimensional space, with kinetic sculptures that combine artificial plants with personal massage devices, sourced secondhand. These cyborgs are replicas that earnestly desire to be real, failed objects that simulate care and intimacy.
